CBE receives Partnership Award from the Calgary Construction Association

The Calgary Board of Education has received the Building Futures Industry Partnership Award from the Calgary Construction Association (CCA). The award, presented to the CBE at a public board meeting on May 12, recognizes the many ways we have worked with the CCA over the past nine years to support students interested in construction careers.

The CCA provides opportunities for CBE students to be exposed to a variety of careers in construction. One of these is through the annual Calgary Construction Expo at the BMO Centre (2015 – 9th Annual!). This hands-on event allows students to try several construction trades under the supervision of volunteer certified journeypersons. The expo has grown over the years with more than 2,000 middle and high school students attending annually.

The Canada-Alberta Job Grant - The Time is Now to Train

Given the oil and gas decline and the change in government, the time is now to get your staff up to speed before the storm returns! We know finding skilled employees is a challenge and this shortage of skilled workers will continue into the future. Take advantage of the Canada Alberta Job Grant program to pay for your staff training (minimum of 25 hours). The program will also pay for the Gold Seal exam fee as well as Gold seal Intern fee. Now is the chance to make the statement to buyers of construction that you believe in training your people to be the best they can be and prove it with Gold Seal!

See detailed information on the Canada Alberta Job Grant here.....

With courses such as Claims, Scheduling Tips, Microsoft Project, Construction Management, Design Build, Dispute Resolution and Elearning courses there are many valuable courses to take advantage of and gear your team up for the aftermath following Alberta's restructuring.
