Calgary Board of Education - Better Together Breakfast

CCA President Dave Smith was honoured to be the keynote speaker at the Better Together Breakfast, an event that promoted Education Matters. Education Matters is a charitable trust that funds unique and innovative learning programs for elementary and secondary students in the Calgary Board of Education (CBE).

The event was held at James Fowler High School on Thursday, June 4, and showcased many of the new programs in schools as well as the talent the school hosts, which ranged from delicious hors d’oeuvres prepared by the culinary students, to a stunning traditional Indian dance presented by the dance class.

For his keynote speech, Dave discussed the CCA’s ongoing educational initiatives, and highlighted the need for industry commitment in supporting innovative learning platforms, such as the Dual Credit Carpentry Program, which was created in collaboration with SAIT, the CBE, the Calgary Catholic School District, and the CCA.
