Being Highly Effective with Everyday Construction Disputes - Tuesday, September 22

Practical Training Based on Everyday Construction Situations
The cost of the everyday disputes that arise on and off the jobsite is staggering both financially and emotionally. These disputes rob people and companies of time and money and in many cases entangle many into a legal nightmare where everyone loses. We have a system that is built for “arguing” issues, usually legally, and weak on “preventing” issues. And, these everyday disputes will crop up day after day around conformance and defects, deviations from plans and specifications, extra and out of scope work, delays, RFP’s and Requests For Information, or just plain old personality clashes.

The Canada-Alberta Job Grant - The Time is Now to Train

Did you know that 20 per cent of applications for the Canada-Alberta Job Grant are from the construction sector? The Canada-Alberta Job Grant is employer-driven, which means employers determine what training is needed. They are also responsible for identifying appropriate training facilities and programs. This is a great way for employers to skill up potential employees through a range of courses such as leadership, project management, safety, human resources, and many more. Since the program’s launch last year, the processing time for initial approval has been less than 30 days for error-free applications.

For more information on the applications process, call the help desk at 1-855-638-9424 or visit AlbertaCanada.com/jobgrant.

A Closer Look at the Prompt Payment Problem
Paying a bill is the final step in an exchange of value between the payer and the payee.
