First Dual Credit Carpentry Graduating Class

Hosted by Ryan Emond of the Calgary Board of Education (CBE), CCA was pleased to be a part of CBE's celebration at SAIT on May 31. An exciting event for the very first graduating class from the dual-credit carpentry program. Ten proud graduates were called up one by one to receive there certificates while their family members proudly watched. These students will graduate high school with their first year apprenticeship!

Avoiding Pay When Paid Pain
By Paul Stocco, Partner Brownlee LLP

There is an old saying that “cash is king”. Adapted for challenging economic times, the saying should be “cash flow is king”. Ensuring that accounts receivable are paid in a timely way, and having enough cash flow to pay accounts payable, are prime concerns for any business. Adequate cash flow is especially important for the construction industry where the flow of money from the top to the bottom of the contract pyramid determines the success, or failure, of a construction business.
