A great day was had by all at Ed Fund Golf Tournament which raised a total of $53,000 towards scholarships. A big thank you to hole sponsors, to those who generously donated and to those who hosted activities. 
Special thanks go out to BigSteelBox for hosting a Chipping Contest, Davidson Enman Lumber Ltd. for the delicious Spolumbos sausages and to Grant Thornton for providing jello shots.
A big shout out to the Young Construction Leaders who engaged everyone in a game of Pitch Pong. Thanks supporters who joined the Shoot to Thrill Challenge at the Youth Employment Program tent and enjoyed some Baileys and coffee.
High fives all around to Westcor Construction Ltd. for loaning their tent to keep CCA staff dry during the rain. 
And a big congratulations to Larry Tennis of BIRD Construction Group who was the 50/50 ticket winner. Larry Tennis won $725 and donated it back to the Ed Fund.

Now Accepting Nominations for the 2016 Alberta Construction Magazine's (ACM) Top Project Awards

The annual awards honor construction excellence in Alberta across a variety of categories. Winners are featured in the winter issue of ACM and honored at the awards luncheon on Nov. 30 at the Glenora Club in Edmonton.

Nominations are PROJECT based (which means a company can be involved in multiple nominated projects) and recognize all parties involved, including:
•Project Owner
•Architect
•Engineering (structural, mechanical, electrical)
•General Contractor

Utilize the Job Grant to Capitalize
on Your Training Dollars - Bundle your 21 Hours!

The Canada-Alberta Job Grant will give you up to 2/3 of the registration fee (up to $10,000/employee/fiscal year) for training existing employees or those you are intending to hire.
Whether taking one course or a combination of
courses, the total training must be a minimum of 21 hours and be completed within 52 weeks.
Training covers expenses such as exam fees, textbooks, etc.

Note: Employers can only apply for courses
starting within 6 months. Applications must be
submitted at least 30 days before the start of the training. Once the application is submitted by the employer, the employer may register and pay for the training. However, the training cannot start until after the application has been approved.
