Calgary leads the country with the highest number of gold seal certified individuals. The CCA made a submission for the Gold Seal Association Award through the Canadian Construction Association and the winner will be announced at their AGM in March. The CCA’s Education Fundraiser Golf Tournament raised $53,000 for scholarship funding. In over 12 years this event has raised $719,000 for the Education Fund. We could not do this without our generous sponsors!

In September, The Women in Construction "Survive & Thrive" Golf Tournament raised $5,800 which was donated to the Waypoints - Fort McMurray Family Crisis Centre.

In October, CCA hosted Alberta Infrastructure representatives who gave a complimentary presentation to CCA members and industry partners about their tendering and procurement processes. The presentation focussed around understanding Alberta Infrastructure Rules of Engagement.

On November 9th the CCA hosted Gilbert Brulotte, Canadian Construction Association Chair and Michael Atkinson, Canadian Construction Association President at the annual Chair's Breakfast Tour. Gilbert Brulotte highlighted current priorities which included New Federal Infrastructure Program, Community Benefits and Social Procurement, Prompt Payment, Federal Government Procurement & Contracting Practices, and Review of Environmental Law and Regulations, and National Construction Industry Ethics Course. The CCA launched the 2017 edition of The CONSTRUCTOR magazine at the Chair's Breakfast. A special thank you to CCA members for advertising in Canada’s number one construction publication.
