At the present time, AB Infrastructure is not contemplating to apply liquidated damages to design consultants.

We have so much to learn, there’s an incredible amount of information out there and our industry is rapidly growing. The requirements are becoming more challenging, clients want things done faster, with more precision, and within the budgeted cost. Ongoing learning and improvement is a key function of success.”

Alberta Construction Association News

Alberta Infrastructure (AI) released their fourth quarter report of contracts management and prompt payment on May 25, 2017. For the production of the contract related information in this report, AI pulled from their contract management system the number of contracts awarded during the quarter and noted the payments made to those contracts. At this time, there is no audit but there is some administration to ensure they are capturing the correct information.

ACA thanks the many members who provided comments on the Alberta Infrastructure's (AI) clauses.
A follow-up meeting with AI has been arranged for mid-June.

You can read ACA’s response here.
