CCA Education "Fun"Draiser Golf Tournament

Understanding that today’s youth will be the workforce of tomorrow, CCA members realize the importance of investing in educational programs and supporting educators in engineering, technology and the construction trades.

Because of your support the CCA Education Fund has awarded over half a million dollars in scholarships to hundreds of deserving students along with employees of CCA member firms.

*Please note that sponsors have first right of commitment on the golfer spots available*

Space is limited to 144 golfers. President, Constructor and Master level sponsors will be given priority for golf registration. This tournament always sells out and CCA will do its best to allow for additional golfers. Register early so not to miss out!

An Industry Wide Effort - Here4BC
We are deeply troubled by the extent of destruction of communities affected by the wildfires currently raging in British Columbia. As a member-centric association and as an industry we must step up and help in all ways possible to support those affected e.g. through volunteerism, or provision of supplies, equipment, un-used camp accommodations and /or financial donations. Here4BC was created in an effort to bring the construction industry together, from companies to associations throughout Canada to support those who have been displaced, lost homes, businesses and much more as a result of these wildfires.

Alberta Construction Association News

ACA attended a July 25th workshop hosted by the Alberta Government. On behalf of members, ACA expressed the following concerns:
  • Employers need legislative certainty that protection of workplace safety trumps privacy and human rights. Perhaps this takes the form of OHS, privacy, and human rights legislation all being amended to confirm statutory protection of employers provided they are appropriately implementing Government approved policy and procedures
  • Employers need Government to establish an evidence-based risk threshold measure of impairment
  • Education and awareness of the signs and impacts of acute and chronic use of cannabis is needed for workers and supervisors
  • Harmonization across provinces is desirable given that construction workers are mobile and construction companies operate beyond Alberta
Further consultations are planned for this Fall.
