New Central Library Site Tour
Thursday, September 21, 2017
The CCA would to thank Ferguson and Stuart Olsen for touring 20 members around the
New Central Library Downtown Calgary!
"The New Central Library, located just east of City Hall in East Village, will be 240,000 square feet of functional, flexible, beautifully designed space. The NCL (as its friends call it) is a friendly city icon that invites all Calgarians to gather, learn, read, play, be challenged, relax, hang out and connect."
CCA is pleased to recognise that Avree Bujaczek of PCL Construction Management Inc. has been selected as a recipient of the SAIT Alumni Awards. Avree is an active member of the Young Construction Leaders and continues to make a difference in the construction industry.
These awards celebrate leaders and visionaries who have graduated from SAIT and gone on to make a significant impact in their profession and the community.

reading the information from the Calgary Chamber and
an email directly to Minister of Finance Bill Morneau and Alberta MP`s.
Message from the CCA:
Since the announcement by
Minister of Finance Bill Morneau about his Government’s proposed small business
tax changes in July, CCA has been involved with the Coalition for Small
Business Tax Fairness. Through the coalition, CCA has been involved in sending
letters to the Minister and supporting strategic advertising.
We are happy to announce
today that the CCA has joined a new campaign that is being led by the Canadian
Chamber of Commerce called Protect Growth. Through this new campaign, CCA
members from all across the country will be able to easily engage their local
Members of Parliament through the microsite www.protectgrowth.ca.
The main purpose of the
website is the online advocacy tool which has been embedded. In short, your
members can engage their local MPs by clicking the “Write Your MP!” button
located at the top and bottom of the page.
The password to access the
tool is “chamber2017”.
Once clicked, they will be
directed to include basic contact information that will be used to populate the
Chamber form letter. When all the information is submitted, all the member has
to do is click send and a letter will automatically be sent by them to their
local MP to let them know that this is a local issue of concern to them.
The website, digital advocacy
tool and form letter are all available in English and French for the
convenience of members all across the country. Our hope is that this campaign
will be disseminated amongst your contacts so that MPs all across Canada know
that these proposed changes will affect their local construction companies. Our
key strength in opposing these changes is through our membership and this tool
will be key to activating their thousands of voices.
If you have any questions or
concerns, please do not hesitate to contact me.
