Let's be Blunt! People use Cannabis.

More than 45,000 Albertans participated in an online survey and more than 100 organizations provided input regarding legalizing cannabis. If passed, legalization will be implemented by July 2018. 

Specific programs are still under development as Alberta Labour continues to work with labour groups and employers to support workplace safety.

We encourage you to review the draft framework & provide your feedback 

before Friday, October 27 by emailing or taking the online survey.

Changes to Business Tax Laws - Update

Thank-you to those who supported the effort to extend the consultation period on the proposed changes to the taxation of private corporations.

The motion to extend the consultation period was defeated in the House of Commons this week. The Liberal government appears to be moving ahead with their proposals. We are now waiting and hoping that the government will take the feedback they received and amend their proposals to be less damaging to private business in Canada.
